Terms & Conditions π
Last updated: 4th March 2024
1.0 General
1.1 This Terms and Conditions Agreement (βAgreementβ) is made by Petbeam ("Service Provider") and the Client ("Client"). It outlines the terms under which dog walking services will be provided by Petbeam.
1.2 Agreement to these Terms and Conditions is confirmed when the Client checks the corresponding box on the registration form. This action represents the Clientβs electronic consent to the terms outlined herein.
2.0 Client Responsibilities
2.1 All dogs walked by Petbeam must be registered with their local council and wear their identification tag at all times.
2.2 All dogs must be current on vaccinations, and preventive treatments for fleas, ticks and worms.
2.3 All dogs walked by Petbeam must be spayed or neutered prior to the commencement of any dog walking services. This is to reduce the risk of incidents related to mating behaviours.
3.0 Dog Walking Services
3.1 Petbeam will only walk dogs that are well-socialised, especially with children and other dogs. Petbeam cannot walk dogs that have issues with aggression or have bitten people or other dogs.
3.2 The Client must notify Petbeam immediately if their dog(s) contracts a contagious condition (kennel cough, conjunctivitis, etc.). Alternative care arrangements will need to be made until the contagious period concludes.
3.3 The location of each walk is at the walkerβs discretion. Destination decisions are made based upon weather, proximity and the individual dogβs needs that day.
3.4 Petbeam offers 30, 45, and 60-minute individual dog walks. However, the total time away from home may exceed the walk duration due to travel time.
3.5 For group walks, the order in which pick up and drop-off occurs will vary day to day, meaning that your dog(s) will be away from home for anywhere between 1 to 3 hours (averaging 2 hours per trip). The actual walk time is an hour minimum, unless there is a good reason for a walk to be cut short (extreme weather or dog behaviour issues, for example).
4.0 Petbeam Happiness Guarantee
4.1 If you feel our service has not met your expectations, please reach out to us. We will be in touch to find out more about what happened. If it turns out that our service fell short of what was promised and it is something within our control, we are committed to issuing a refund for the portion of the service that did not meet our standards.
4.2 To be eligible for our happiness guarantee, you must notify Petbeam within 48 hours of service completion if you are not satisfied with the service provided.
4.3 Any refunds will be processed within 5 business days following the confirmation of the issue.
4.4 What's not covered: Circumstances outside of Petbeam's control, including but not limited to extreme weather conditions, unforeseen traffic delays, or emergencies.
5.0 Veterinary Care
5.1 The Client authorises Petbeam to obtain any emergency veterinary care that may be necessary during the time spent with the dog. Every effort will be made to contact the Client prior to obtaining emergency care with the dogβs primary veterinarian. All costs incurred are to be paid by the Client.
5.2 The Client authorises Petbeam to utilise an alternative veterinarian in the event the dogβs primary veterinarian is unavailable, or time does not permit the safe passage to that clinic.
6.0 Cancellations
6.1 Cancellations for dog walking on the day of the service will incur a 50% fee.
7.0 Payment
7.1 Invoices for services are due 2 weeks from when they are sent to the Client.
8.0 Liability
8.1 Petbeam agrees to provide dog walking services in a professional and reliable manner. Our commitment includes ensuring the safety and well-being of your dog(s) while under our care.
8.2 The Client acknowledges and accepts that there are inherent risks associated with dog walking, including but not limited to injuries, escape, or damage caused by the dog.
8.3 The Client hereby releases Petbeam, its owner, and agents from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, or causes of action that may arise from the services provided, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct by Petbeam.
8.4 The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Petbeam, its owner, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, legal fees, costs, and expenses arising from or related to the Client's dog(s) or the services provided by Petbeam.
8.5 Petbeam maintains liability insurance appropriate to the services offered. However, Clients are encouraged to maintain their own pet insurance that will cover their dog(s) in the event of injury or illness.
8.6 In no event shall Petbeam be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, arising out of or in connection with its services.
9.0 Use of Information
9.1 Petbeam may capture photos, videos, and stories of your dog(s) during service sessions for use in marketing and social media materials. If you wish to have any images or information about your dog(s) excluded from such use, please notify us in writing. Petbeam respects your privacy and will honour requests to remove specific content involving your dog(s) from our platforms promptly.
10.0 Updates to Terms
10.1 Our Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our services, changes in the law, or for other reasons. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the terms and posting the updated terms on our website. We may also provide additional notification, such as sending you an email.
10.2 By continuing to use our services after these changes are made, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using our services. We recommend you review our Terms and Conditions regularly to ensure you are informed of any changes.
11.0 Termination
11.1 Both Petbeam and the Client may terminate this agreement at any time by providing written notice to the other party. Termination may occur for any reason at the discretion of the terminating party.
11.2 Clients are expected to pay for any services received up to the termination date.
